Historic commission discusses plans for MusicFest XXXI

Plans are starting to take shape for MusicFest XXXI, which is set for October in downtown El Dorado and organizers are exploring ways to grow the “festival” portion of the event, including a possible partnership with the El Dorado Historic District Commission.

Two severely injured in domestic incidents

Two defendants appeared this week in 35th Judicial District Court on felony battery charges in connection to two separate, domestic incidents in which the victims sustained serious nose injuries, including one in which the victim’s nose was split, allegedly with a meat cleaver, according to El Dorado police reports. Bond was set at $100,000 Friday for Darin T. Brown, 33, of Junction City.

Boys and Girls Club to introduce new programs

El Dorado city officials recently heard a report about how the city’s annual contribution to the Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado is helping to serve the area’s youth, including two new programs that will be introduced this fall.
