A Union County woman who was reported missing earlier this week was found safe Wednesday morning.

Capt. Jeff Stinson of the Union County Sheriff's Office said 39-year-old Jamie Armstong was reported missing to the El Dorado Police Department after she failed to show "somewhere she was supposed to be" Tuesday night in El Dorado.

Armstrong was reportedly last seen on Jan. 7 at her residence and not been to work or in contact with family, friends or co-workers for the past few days.

Stinson and Lt. Jarod Primm of the EPD's Criminal Investigative Division said that once EPD officers learned that Armstrong lives outside city limits and outside the EPD's jurisdiction, the investigation was turned over to the UCSO.

Stinson said Armstrong promptly arrived for an appointment at a local office Wednesday morning and sheriff's deputies confirmed her identity and that she was safe.

No other information, including Armstrong's whereabouts since Jan. 7, was available Wednesday.
