Airstreams visit downtown

Happy campers: The Wally Byam Caravan Club International rolled into El Dorado on Thursday with a group of around three dozen Airstream campers. The campers are stationed around the courthouse downtown. This is the first such event in Arkansas history. Paul Greene and Terri Murdoch of Little Rock enjoy the comfort of their 27-foot Flying Cloud Airstream. Greene and Murdoch have been members of the Airstream of Razorback Club for two years. “They last forever and are real stable on the road, not to mention the retro cool factor,” said Greene. “They get good gas mileage because of their aerodynamics.” Murdoch and Green believe El Dorado is a very welcoming place. “They rolled out the red carpet,” Murdoch said. Larry and Margaret Combs of El Dorado brought their 16-foot Airstream, Bambi, into downtown for the event.
