El Dorado police are searching for a suspect in relation to a double homicide that occurred early Sunday morning.

Two people, a man and a woman, were killed and two people were injured. Police are withholding the names of the victims due to the nature of the ongoing investigation, said Capt. Kevin Holt, public information officer for the El Dorado Police Department.

The injured victims were transported to Medical Center of South Arkansas and one was later transferred to a medical facility in Little Rock for further treatment.

The victims who were fatally wounded were pronounced dead on the scene by the Union County Coroner’s Office. The bodies will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for autopsy, Holt said.

Jacovis Dejon James, 23, who has given an address of 1311 W. First, Apt. 73, is wanted on an active felony arrest warrant for two counts of capital murder, two counts of attempted capital murder, aggravated robbery and an enhanced penalty for felony with a firearm.

Officers responded at approximately 12:30 a.m. to a report of shots at White Quarters, No. 2, and upon arrival, police saw that the front door was open and heard a woman’s voice inside the residence calling for help.

Upon entering the residence, officers dicovered four gunshot victims in various rooms throughout the residence.

James is considered to be armed and dangerous; people are asked to use extreme caution if they see James. He is described as a black male, 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information on James’ whereabouts is urged to contact El Dorado police Detective Scott Snell or Lt. Scott Harwell at 870-881-4810 or CrimeStoppers at 870-863-INFO.
