Evelyn Morris named VP of state association leadership conference

Local banker Evelyn Morris was recently appointed as the 2018-19 Emerging Leaders Section Council vice president at the Arkansas Bankers Association Leadership Conference in Little Rock.

According to a news release, Morris, who is currently the vice president of loan operations with First Financial Bank in El Dorado, is a 1999 graduate of Arkadelphia High School and earned her degree in business administration with an emphasis in finance – banking from the University of Arkansas in 2003. She completed the American Bankers Association Compliance School in 2012, and received her graduate degree in banking from the Barret School of Banking at Christian Brothers University in 2013.

Morris is treasurer and board member of the United Way of Union County, a volunteer coach for the Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado, president of the El Dorado Chi Omega Alumni Association and attends Immanuel Baptist Church. She is also the past president of the United Way of Columbia County.

The Arkansas Bankers Association, which was established in 1891, is the state’s largest and oldest banking industry organization and represents banks, bank holding companies and savings & loans in Arkansas. The Emerging Leaders Section provides the opportunity for young bankers to enhance their careers through educational and networking opportunities.
