Grammy-nominated artist Tim Reynolds and his band, TR3, are set to perform at the Griffin Restaurant on April 10 in a special Tuesday show.

The Murphy Arts District announced the planned show in a news release Monday. In it, Reynolds is described as having a musical career spanning more than 35 years and having a “masterful command of melody and timing” as well as an “uncanny ability to improvise on any instrument he touches.” Reynolds has explored a variety of musical styles, from rock and blues to classical and reggae.

His band, TR3, was founded in the mid-1980s in Charlottesville, Virginia. The band toured throughout the ’80s and ’90s, and Reynolds began collaborating with Dave Matthews as he turned more toward a solo career. The band was resurrected in the late 2000s, with their first double live CD issued in 2011.

The performance at the Griffin Restaurant will be a first, the release notes, as the restaurant will be closed for normal dining to allow for the show only April 10. Tickets will be available for $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Murphy Arts District members will have first access to tickets, starting Wednesday, with public access beginning Thursday.

Those in attendance at the April 10 show will be able to order food from the Griffin’s small plates menu, as well as drinks. For more information, visit eldomad.com.
