DWIGHT L. FREEMAN

Dwight Levester Freeman, also known as “Commissioner”, age 61, of Monticello passed away, Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born Aug. 21, 1956 in Little Rock, to the late Alline Hokes and James Freeman.

At an early age “Commissioner” was taken under the care of Mom, Margaret “Mrs. Patty” and Dade, James Freeman. He went on to join Holmes Chapel. As a child he attended Drew School and later graduated from Monticello High School. During high school, he was a fluent trumpet player. He also worked at Henderson Funeral Home during high school breaks. He began working at Burlington in 1975 and went on to work there for years. In good health, he enjoyed mechanic work. He was preceded in death by both his mothers, Aline Hokes and Margaret and his dad, James Freeman.

He leaves to cherish his memories, one daughter, Christy (Christy Pooh) Davis of Monticello; two sisters, Deborah Freeman of Monticello and (A Special sister) Jewelette Courtney (Bobby) of Pine Bluff; four brothers, Willie Freeman of Conway, Donald Freeman (Brenda), Bobby Freeman (Jessica) and Gary Freeman (Bridgette) all of Monticello; one uncle, Sonny Hall of Monticello; two aunts, Vernelle Binns of Detroit, Michigan and Alberta Walton of Monticello; three grandchildren, Jabriona Davis, Erion Reed and robvion Whitaker all of Monticello; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and a special cousin, LaTonya Millet.
