El Dorado records split at Camden Fairview

CAMDEN - El Dorado's basketball teams came away with a split at Camden Fairview on Tuesday in Class 5A-6A District 6 action.

The Lady Wildcats came away with a 51-40 victory, while the Wildcats fell 75-69.

In the girls game, the Lady Wildcats led 12-10 after one quarter and gradually pulled away to the 11-point victory.

The margin was 23-18 at the half and 42-30 going into the fourth. The win avenged a loss to the Lady Cardinals earlier at Wildcat Arena.

Jessica Morton paced El Dorado with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kierra Boone scored 12 with seven boards while Tasia Richardson tallied 12 with five steals.

El Dorado improved to 7-10 on the season and travels to Magnolia tonight.

Taisheika Porchia led the Lady Cardinals with 16 points while Jayla Jackson scored 10.

In the boys game, B.J. Johnson had 29 points, but it wasn't enough for the Wildcats (9-10, 7-3).

El Dorado trailed 18-15 after the opening stanza before slicing a point off the Cardinals' lead to trail 33-31 at intermission.

However, Camden Fairview pulled away to take a 52-45 lead after three periods before winning by the final margin.

In addition to Johnson, the Wildcats got 15 points from Joderrio Ramey and 10 points from Keshun Greene in the contest.
