Parkers Chapel alums can request original school records

PARKERS CHAPEL — Parkers Chapel High School alumni who graduated before 2013 may take possession of their original school records by emailing a request to Gina Taylor at [email protected].

Please include your full name and your date of birth in your email. All requests must be made by June 15.

Retired & Senior Volunteer Program Dance set for tonight

The RSVP Dance for ages 55 and older, featuring “Slik Nickel,” will be held from 7-10 p.m. tonight at Champagnolle Landing Senior Center, 910 E. 4th St., El Dorado. Admission is $6 per person. Alcohol and smoking is prohibited.

Union County Spelling Bee scheduled Wednesday

The El Dorado School District will host this year’s Union County Spelling Bee at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the TAC House.

It will feature eight schools across the county. The judges will be SAAC executive director Laura Allen, United Way executive director Alexis Alexander and Chamber of Commerce CEO Mike Dumas. District professional development director Bonnie Haynie will pronounce the words for the students.

Stop the Violence

gathering slated for Saturday

A Stop the Violence and Celebration of Lost Loved Ones Gathering, presented by Brothers Making Changes, will be held from 2 until 5 p.m. Saturday on the parking lot of the Brick House, 1814 Junction City Road. The gathering will include a live DJ, free food, bouncy houses and guest speakers. The event is free and open to the public. Those who plan to attend are asked to wear commemorative, rest-in-peace T-shirts to honor loved ones and to be included in video footage of the event.
