The South Arkansas Arts Center will present another Corks and Canvas class, hosted and taught by local artist Rhonda Hicks.
Corks and Canvas is an art class for non-artists who have always wanted to paint. Hicks, who runs Backwoods Art and Frame, will take the class through the step-by-step process to complete a work of art in three hours.
At the class on Feb. 15, Hicks plans to teach a mixed media painting, instructing students on an acrylic 11x14 painting with a spring theme. Hicks has previously taught Corks and Canvas and students responded well to her style.
“Being around Rhonda is a party,” said Melissa McFarland, who has participated in one of Hicks’ previous classes at SAAC. “She is fun, creative and inspiring.”
The class, which costs $40, will run from 6-9 p.m. Feb. 15 with snacks provided and participants can bring the beverage of their choice.
The next Corks and Canvas night will be held March 15 with Kelly Campbell instructing.
