ELLIS M. GLOVER
Ellis M. Glover, 88, of El Dorado passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at the John R. Williamson Hospice House.
Born June 13, 1929 in Jacksonville, Arkansas he was the son of Guy Lee and Clara Fallie Townsend Glover. Mr. Glover was retired from Texas Eastern.
Ellis had multiple businesses over the years. He was an accomplished pilot and flew his own plane. He loved to travel, play golf and he especially loved to play bridge.
Ellis had many nicknames, including, “Big E”, Papaw and living up to his habit of never getting in a hurry, many called him “Lightening”.
Preceding him in death along with his parents was a brother, Ernest Glover.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Sandy C. Glover, a son, Mike Glover of McGehee, AR and Mike’s mother, Billie Glover of El Dorado. Also surviving are Sandy’s children; Bonnie Sexton (Hunter) of El Dorado, Randy Thomas Barton (Patti) of Beaumont, TX and John Scott Barton (Kerry) of Farmerville, LA along with 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren., including Tracie Christian (Mike), Kimberly Williams (Trey) and Delainey and Zach.
A gathering for friends and family will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Young’s. Cremation entrusted to Young’s Funeral Directors.
A reception at the El Dorado Golf and Country Club will be announced at a later date.
