The Rev. Sylvester “Syl” McHenry was born Feb. 9, 1960 to Betty Jean McHenry and Joshua Lark. He was raised by LJ & Roberta Frazier.
He was a 1978 graduate of El Dorado High School, member of Hosanna Baptist Church and an employee of SADCCF.
He passed on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 at UAMS in Little Rock and was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John Johnson and Joseph Austin; son, Sylvester McHenry Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Renee McHenry of El Dorado; sons, Darris L. McHenry of El Dorado and Jalen J. McHenry of El Dorado and daughter, Shakira S. McHenry of El Dorado; stepson, Antonio Carroll of El Dorado; stepdaughter, LaTosha Brown of El Dorado; sisters, Jacqulin McHenry of El Dorado, Colena Austin of Camden, Sonya Benn of Camden, and Mechelle Lark of Oakland, California; brother, Joshua Lark, Jr., of Feirfield, California; and five grandchildren.
Public Visitation will be Friday, Aug. 17, 2018 from noon until 5 p.m. at Sims Mortuary. Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018 at St. John Baptist Church.
