Weather permitting, residents and volunteers will rally together Saturday for a community cleanup in Ward Three.

El Dorado Alderman Kensel Spivey, who represents Ward Three, along with Alderman Willie McGhee, said organizers are keeping an eye on the weather, noting that rain is forecast for Saturday.

“Hopefully, the weather will hold off. If it gets bad, we’ll have to reschedule it,” Spivey said.

For the third consecutive year, Spivey and McGhee are again teaming up with Clean Harbors to coordinate the cleanup, which is set for 9 a.m. until noon.

Lunch will immediately follow at Mattocks Park, located at Detroit and Sharp streets.

Spivey said several groups, including youth baseball and basketball teams, have already committed to participate in the cleanup.
