Third-quarter rally lifts Forrest City past El Dorado

FORREST CITY - The third quarter proved to be the decisive one on Friday night, as Forrest City rallied past El Dorado 71-64 to advance to the finals of the Rumble on the Ridge Tournament, ending the Wildcats' bid for a third straight title.

The Wildcats (1-2) led 31-26 at intermission, but the Mustangs outscored El Dorado 30-13 in the stanza to take a 56-44 lead before holding off EHS to advance.

Brenden Johnson was one of four players in double figures with 16 points to lead the Wildcats.

Brendan Simmons had 15 points, while Kyle Jordan added 13 points and Joderrio Ramey chipped in with 10 points.

El Dorado will conclude play today at 3 p.m. against Little Rock Hall.
