Prepping Turkeys

Prepping turkeys: Bruce Green cooks the turkeys Tuesday for the Salvation Army Thanksgiving Dinner, which will be on Thanskgiving Day. Green has been cooking turkeys for the Salvation Army’s Thanksgiving for the last 14 years, both smoking and frying the turkeys. The turkeys will be put in the cooler to cool down, and used to prepare the dressing today. All 23 turkeys have been donated to the Salvation Army with six coming from Youngs Funeral Home. Another 14 turkeys and five hams were donated from the KIX-Giving fundraiser from the radio station KIX103 and the propane tanks were donated by Brookshire’s. The dinner will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the El Dorado Salvation Army.
