Christmasville

Display: Kay Smith reveals a variety of holiday displays at Christmasville, 110 Rowell Street in El Dorado. With hundreds of figurines and miniature models, Christmasville is purportedly the largest indoor Christmas village display in South Arkansas. This is Smith’s third year hosting the event and her first year in El Dorado. The display holds a variety of themed Christmas Trees and villages. “The Chamber (El Dorado-Union County Chamber of Commerce) helped find me a place and the owner help make the rent affordable,” says Smith who’s been collecting items for the display for over 38 years. Visitors can expect plenty of Christmas Trees such as a military tree honoring veterans, an Arkansas tree with Razorback memorabilia, a cancer tree bearing the photos and names of loved ones affected by the disease, a peacock tree and several others. Viewing times are Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The display is open on Thanksgiving Day from 2-9 p.m. and Christmas Eve 2 p.m.-5 p.m.
