Bessie G. Whatley Green, 86, of Spearsville, Louisiana, passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House following a brief illness.
She was born July 20, 1931 in Lillie, Louisiana, to Minor C. Patterson and Ambrey Dale Hogue Patterson. She was a member of Blanchard Springs Baptist Church as well as a homemaker, a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Houston R. Whatley; one son, Jackie Whatley; one sister; three brothers; and one son-in-law, Steve Hux.
Survivors include two daughters, Vera Pennington of Junction City, and Trenna Hux of El Dorado; three sons, Wayne Patterson (Ann) of Ruston, Louisiana, Rickey Whatley (Carolyn) of Junction City, Louisiana, and Adam Whatley (Jennifer) of Marion, Louisiana; three brothers; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral swill be held at 2 p.m. today at Blanchard Springs Baptist Church of Junction City with Bro. Richard Methen officiating.
Visitation was held on Monday, Nov. 6 at Perry’s Funeral Chapels.
Interment will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery in Spearsville.
