FRANCES M. KELLY

Frances McKinnon Kelly was born in El Dorado on Oct. 4, 1933 to Gordon and Lillie Mae McKinnon. She went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 5, 2017 in Odessa, Texas following a brief illness.

Frances’ life was centered around her family as wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to her loving and devoted husband, Bob, on April 19, 1952. She especially enjoyed the years she spent traveling with Bob after he retired from a career in the oilfield to pursue his love of music. She was always a big part of his success as a musician and songwriter and she was very proud of his accomplishments. She was also blessed by the fact that her son, Ken, was a part of those years as well and they share many memories from those times.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Lillie Mae McKinnon; her husband, Bob; and 3-year-old son, Little Bobby; her brother, Maurice; and sisters, Geraldine, Christine and Johnnie.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Alexander, and her husband, Billy, of Odessa; her son, Ken Kelly and his wife, Terri, of Lufkin, Texas; granddaughters, Crystal Alexander of Odessa, Tara Harris and her husband, Mike, of Abilene, Texas, and Sarah Kelly of Lufkin; grandsons, Blake Alexander of San Antonio, Texas, Ryan Kelly and his wife, Randi, of Odessa, and Brady Kelly of Lufkin; and great-granddaughters, Hadley Harris of Abilene, and Corbyn Alexander of San Antonio; four sisters, Mary Ann Brown of Three Creeks, Josephine Penix and her husband, Hardy, of Arcadia, Louisiana, Edna McCullough of Jacksonville, Florida, and Susie Ellison of New Jersey; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A private memorial is being planned for family and friends at a later date.

The family requests that donations be made to Home Hospice, 619 N. Grant, Odessa, Texas 79761 in her memory. The family would like to express their appreciation to Home Hospice for the care and comfort they gave to Frances and her family in her last days.
