El Dorado City Council to meet

EL DORADO — The El Dorado City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. today in the Council Chamber in City Hall.

Items on the agenda include budget adjustments and contract briefings from the El Dorado Chamber of Commerce and the El Dorado Boys and Girls Club.

Murphy Arts District plans job preview today

EL DORADO — El Dorado Festivals & Events Inc., a private non-profit group founded to create “MAD, the Murphy Arts District” will have a job preview event from 2 until 4 p.m. today at the El Dorado Conference Center, 311 S. West Ave., El Dorado. The event is open to the public and refreshments will be served.

According to a news release from MAD, the Murphy Arts District is “searching for individuals that can help us complete the ‘Total Experience’ – individuals that are not only friendly, outgoing, upbeat, highly motivated and sociable, but individuals what want to become leaders by growing themselves and their standards through in-house teaching and training as well as outside sources.”

Citizens group to meet with Garner

STRONG — The Strong Community Leadership Alliance will host a meeting with Senator Trent Garner at 6 p.m. today at the Strong Community Center, 9400 Strong Highway, Strong.

“This will be a great opportunity for the citizens of District 27 to meet and talk with Senator Garner,” according to a news release from the alliance.

The Strong Community Leadership Alliance is a community-based group that encourages citizens to get involved in organizing, social justice issues, advocacy and electoral engagement at the local and state levels.
