JERRY CALLOWAY

Sadly, we share that Jerry “Papa” Calloway passed away suddenly at his Lake Cherokee home, Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017.

He leaves behind Barbara, wife of 38 years; and her children, Chuck Prosch of Houston, and Amy Prosch Shober (Tom) of Charlotte, North Carolina. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye, Chuck (Emily) and Cimaron Prosch of Houston, Jon (Cassie), Chris, Tyler and Barrett Prosch, of Colorado, Samantha, Rich and Charlie Shober of Charlotte, North Carolina. He is survived by his brother, Mike (Andie) Calloway of San Antonio, Texas; nephew, David (Suzette) of Smackover; as well as other nephews and nieces.

Son Scott Prosch predeceased Papa (ALS 2011) and now, together again, their shared past times of hunting, fishing and laughing can resume. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Gen Loe, John (Dorothy), Fred (Shirley) and Joe Calloway.

Jerry grew up in Smackover and was one of five from parents Spencer and Nannie Calloway, and graduated from Southern Arkansas University. After moving to East Texas, he was with Baker Hughes until retirement. He regularly phoned and visited grandkids, gardened and shared his abundant crop, held outdoor fish fries and enjoyed life at the lake with Barbara and visitors.

Services will be private and condolences can be made to the memorial page at Raderfh.com.
