Wildcats top Texarkana at buzzer

TEXARKANA - El Dorado remains undefeated in conference play thanks to the heroics of Joderrio Ramey.

A junior, Ramey buried a 25-foot shot at the buzzer in front of the El Dorado bench to lead the Wildcats to a 78-75 win over Texarkana in Class 5A-6A District 6 play on Friday night.

After Texarkana missed two free throws, Ramey took a handoff from Alex Boone and drilled the game-winner as time expired.

Ramey led the Wildcats with 22 points.

El Dorado had four other players reach double figures.

B.J. Johnson had 19 points, while Brendan Simmons sank five 3-pointers to finish with 17 points.

Bishop Foster had 12 points and Kyle Jordan added 11 points for the Wildcats, who host Hot Springs next Tuesday.

The Wildcats also won the JV game 68-46.

Jamaizia Thompson had 14 points, while Jordan Tubbs chipped in with 12 points and Tyler Everette scored 11 points for EHS (2-2).

SHERIDAN - The Wildcats jumped out to a 19-3 lead after the opening period and never looked back en route to picking up a win on the road.

Isaiah Ramey and Jarmel Love had 12 points apiece, while James Hartsfield III added 10 points for the Wildcats, who improve to 5-3 with the win.

BARTON 8TH-GRADE BOYS 45,

SHERIDAN 33

SHERIDAN - Jackie Washington had 13 points and Damario Buffert added 10 points for the Wildkittens, who improved their record to 7-5 with the win.

Sharmon Rester, Patrick Sixbey and Kamarion Dade each had four points for Barton.
