RICKEY GAFFORD
Rickey Gafford, 65, of El Dorado, died June 17, 2016 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. He was born in El Dorado on May 15, 1951. He was the son of Lonnie Gafford and Ceola Barlow Gafford. He was a graduate of El Dorado High School and attended Oil Belt Vo-Tech School. He retired from UPS after 36 years of service. He attended the El Dorado Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness’. He was a member of the Buffalo Soldiers Motorcycle Club and the R.C. Flyers Aviation Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Toby Gafford.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Smith Gafford of El Dorado; two sons, Richard Gafford of Oklahoma City and Rilitraz (Kikki) Gafford of Shreveport, La.; one daughter, Shantavia (Nikki) Shelton of Sercy; one brother, Jeffery Gafford of Shreveport; one sister, Dr. Tia Gafford of Lexington, Ky.; and five grandchildren.
Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at the El Dorado Conference Center with Dr. James T. Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Andrews Funeral Home.
There will be no public viewing or visitation at the funeral home. All public viewing will be after the funeral.
