ROBERT E. HARRISON
Robert Edward Harrison, 87, of Athens, Tenn., passed into eternal life on May 22, 2016.
Bob was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville, Tenn., where he was the scout master for Troop 144 for 13 years. In addition to scout master, Bob held many leadership roles at Grace Lutheran Church. He was a current member of Athens Lutheran Church in Athens.
He was born in Fredericksburg, Texas and raised in Smackover. He lived in Tennessee from 1954 until the present. He worked for the University of Tennessee Library System. He was a strong family man and spending time with his family was very important to him. He was passionate about researching his family geology and sharing family stories. He traveled many miles each year to spend time with his extended family in Texas and Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elna Irene Hildahl Harrison.
He is survived by his son, Steven Robert Harrison and his wife, Jeanne Wynne Harrison; grandson, Eric Scott Harrison; sister, Lillian Burian (Ron); brothers, Raymond (Mary), Harold (Paulette), Lawrence (Donna), and Howard (Becky); and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Athens Lutheran Church, 710 Forrest Ave., Athens, TN 37303.
A private service and interment will be held at The National Cemetery in Knoxville. Arrangements are by Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
