One door closes, another opens and that’s exactly how and why Lisa Pearson of 3 in One Design is holding a Grand Reopening on Oct. 15 at its new location 1003 North College.

The recent closing of Harrison’s Christian Bookstore on the square in El Dorado served as the impetus for Pearson to add a line of Christian books, Bibles, inspirational gifts and other church supplies.

“Pastors said to me, ‘It is a sad that El Dorado doesn’t have a Christian book store anymore,’” she said. So Pearson began adding church-related literature to her shop.

The shop is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Since 3 in One Design opened in 2002, the store has featured gift-wrapping services and supplies, event planning and school project needs. It now offers inspirational gifts and products for churches.

“I am working on learning what is needed. I think with what God has done, I have learned.”

Her entire line of Christian literature is newly purchased. “I am starting small and asking what people need and what book have you given to others,” Pearson said. “I need the local church organizations’ staff to come and we will work to find a product that provides hope to their congregation and the community.”

The event will also include a fundraiser for Agape House, the house being built to house 10 foster children. There will be a request for donations to Agape House and a portion of the day’s sales will go to the Agape House general fund.

The public is invited to stop by the store from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. for refreshments and door prize drawings.
