Man banned from his residence

Daniel McBride had to ask for clarification when the stipulations of his bond were read Wednesday in Union County District Court. Before issuing a bond, Judge George VanHook stated that McBride was banned from his residence.

“I thought that was my home,” McBride said.

“Who owns it?” VanHook asked.

“My parents.”

“They don’t want you there,” VanHook said and issued a $10,000 cash or corporate surety bond with a curfew of 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. McBride was charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, less than two grams and possession of drug paraphernalia. Before he could be released, he had to have the address of where he would be staying.

Also during District Court on Wednesday:

Appearing with his attorney Gary McDonald, Elroy Davis, was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $100,000 any form acceptable to the Union County sheriff with a curfew of 4 p.m. to 9 a.m. He also was charged with violating his parole.

James Rodgers was issued a $75,000 sheriff’s bond. He was charged with aggravated assault of a family member, endangering the welfare of a minor, terroristic threatening, battery in the third and possession of a firearm by certain person. He also was charged with violating the terms of his parole. The judge ordered that Rodgers have no contact with the alleged victims.
