BETTY R. BAUMAN

Betty Ruth Harrell Bauman, 75, of El Dorado, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.

Betty was born on April 28, 1939, to Wilson and Irene Slater Harrell in El Dorado. She was a 1957 graduate of El Dorado High School. She worked at First National Bank/BancorpSouth for 48-plus years. Betty started out as a runner, held many positions, and retired in 2013 as Assistant Vice President.

She was a member of First Baptist church, where she taught Sunday School. Second Baptist church was a big part of her life, from cradle roll through the next 65-plus years. She taught Sunday School, worked with the youth, went on mission trips and served on numerous committees. She was a devoted daughter, wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed cooking for others, spending time with her domino group, watching the Razorbacks and listening to the Wildcat games. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 53 years, Jerry “Todd” Bauman, and her daughter Debi Bauman Lee.

She is survived by her sons, Rick Bauman (Holly), of Smackover and Joey Bauman (Kim), of El Dorado, Gregg Bauman (Frances), of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Dustin Bauman (Heather), Cody Bauman (Leslie), Shay Kaldem (Grant), Cristina Lee, Lane Bauman, Caroline Bauman and Wilson Bauman. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; her brother, Dr. James E. Harrell (Joan); and her sister, Annetia Bradford.

Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens at 11:30 a.m. Monday, with funeral services following at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of El Dorado with the Rev. Brian Trostle officiating, under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors. The family will receive friends from 5-8 this evening at Young’s Funeral Directors.
