PARKERS CHAPEL — In their first meeting against Claiborne Academy (La.), Parkers Chapel used an eight-run third inning to pick up a road win.
In the rematch on Monday, the Trojans fell behind early before pulling away for a 12-3 victory.
Parkers Chapel overcame a 1-0 deficit by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first before adding three runs in the third and two in the fourth to take a 7-1 lead.
The Rebels scored twice in the fifth to make it 7-3, but the Trojans put the game away with five runs in the sixth.
Five pitchers combined on a four-hitter with Sy Fife — PC’s third pitcher — picking up the win.
Fife went 2 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and two runs. He walked one and struck out two.
Dyson Dougan and Cameron Mayo followed with 2 2/3 scoreless innings to seal the victory.
JT Ingram walked one and struck out two while allowing a run in the first inning. He allowed one hit.
Chandler Boykin followed with a scoreless inning, allowing one hit with one walk and two strikeouts.
Dougan sparked the offense by going 2-for-2 with a double, two walks and three RBIs. He also scored three runs and stole two bases.
Mayo had a double, a walk and drove in two runs, while Paytin Greene and Fife each had a single and an RBI in the win.
Timothy Ruston had two RBIs and scored two runs for the Trojans.
Parkers Chapel (15-4) was scheduled to return to 8-2A play on Tuesday with a road tilt at Rison.
