Parkers Chapel cruises to win at Hermitage

HERMITAGE - For the second straight game, Parkers Chapel delivered a lopsided victory.

Dyson Dougan had 10 of his 20 points in the third quarter, as the Trojans topped Hermitage 62-32 in a non-conference clash on Monday night.

On Friday, the Trojans (8-12) cruised to a 70-25 win over Gurdon and PC also topped Rison 54-30 last month.

Jaylen Gray was also in double figures with 15 points with 10 coming in the first half for the Trojans, who will be idle until resuming 8-2A play on Friday against Ouachita in a showdown that will loom large for seeding for next month’s district tournament.

“We got off to a slow start defensively,” said Parkers Chapel coach Josh Langley. “We picked it up in the second half and played much better throughout the rest of the game. We did a great job executing the game plan and held them scoreless for the first six minutes of the second quarter and holding them scoreless in the third quarter.”

Elijah Brown had eight points and Ethan Mayweather chipped in with seven points with all of his scoring coming in the first quarter for the Trojans.
