Expanded Insider Guide published ahead of tourism conference

The El Dorado Advertising and Promotion Commission has released the newest edition of the El Dorado Insider, a quarterly city magazine that highlights local people, places and points of interest to help bring visitors to El Dorado and keep local residents informed about upcoming events.

The first Insider of 2023 includes a 48-page El Dorado Visitor's Guide.

The release of the issue coincides with the 49th annual Governor's Conference on Tourism, which will be held Feb. 26 - 28 in El Dorado.

The number of pages in the Insider was increased by nearly 25% to feature additional amenities that are specifically related to the local travel and tourism market.

From an annual calendar of events to listings for dining, lodging, meeting spaces and area attractions, the Visitor's Guide is a year-round resource for visitors to the city.

"Our team promotes the importance that El Dorado places on the tourism business by highlighting the amenities and facilities we have developed to attract travelers to our city," said Don Hale, president of The Diamond Agency -- the A&P commission's ad agency of record and the publisher of the Insider.

"It's only reasonable that we should increase our coverage of this vital part of our local economy as we host the state's tourism professionals," Hale said.

The guide includes comprehensive information on entertainment venues in the community, such as the Murphy Arts District, South Arkansas Arts Center, Main Street El Dorado and the South Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.

The Insider also provides resources for shopping, recreation, dining and lodging within the city.

Feature articles include "Traveling with Pets," "Hosting an Event" and "Heartbeat of the City," which focuses on the city's historic downtown.

The issue also spotlights the El Dorado arts community and takes an inside look at the The Haywood Hotel El Dorado, Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

The resource listing includes lodging and dining guides and indicator maps for locating lodging properties and shopping destinations.

Additionally, the Insider offers recommendations of the best places to take photographs in El Dorado to record memories and reveals tips from travel professionals on what makes El Dorado a must-see destination for travelers.

Copies of the El Dorado Insider are available at the El Dorado – Union County Chamber of Commerce, 111 W. Main; or Corner Post 1207 E. Main.

The Insider is available to the public for free and may be viewed online at ElDoradoInsider.com. The Insider is partially funded by the A&P commission.
