Jobe throws no-hitter for Sticks

Austin Jobe’s summer of dominance continued on Thursday with the former El Dorado standout firing a no-hitter for the Arkansas Sticks.

Jobe struck out 15 while walking two in a 3-0 win.

Overall this summer, Jobe has picked up four wins while not allowing any earned runs in 25 innings of work. He has racked up 45 strikeouts while issuing just four walks. Opponents are hitting just .108 against him.

This spring for the Wildcats, Jobe went 6-1 with a 1.24 ERA. In 45 innings, he allowed 29 hits, walked 14 and struck out 71.

During the spring, Jobe fanned 14 as part of a one-hit shutout against Hot Springs where he needed just 62 pitches to go the distance, throwing only nine balls in the outing.

He also threw 6 1/3 hitless innings with nine strikeouts in a win over Brookland.

Jobe, who has signed with Crowder (Mo.) Community College, represented El Dorado in the AHSCA All-Star Game last month.
