Trojans upend Fordyce in double overtime

PARKERS CHAPEL - Parkers Chapel’s senior boys pulled out a 53-46  double overtime win over Fordyce in a 2A-8 game on Thursday.

Jaylen Gray led the Trojans with 17 points followed by Braydon McGoogan with 14 and Lancer Clark with nine.

PC led 12-9 after one quarter and trailed 23-20 at the half and 31-29 going into the fourth quarter. The Trojans outscored the Redbugs 24-15 in the fourth quarter and the two overtimes.

“Payton Willeford, Brody Goodwin, Elijah Brown and Mason Dougan all played really well for us tonight,” said PC coach Josh Langley. “Fordyce has a really good team and I thought they had a good game plan for us defensively. We had some guys step up and make some huge plays for us tonight and that’s part of what we have been missing late in games but tonight our kids stepped up. They never doubted themselves and fought every second tonight. Couldn’t be more proud of our guys.”
