Junction City drops league clash against Spring Hill

JUNCTION CITY - Junction City’s Lady Dragons were a half away from a 2A-8 upset on Tuesday. But, Spring Hill put on a second-half surge and pulled away to a 39-33 victory at Junction City.

The Lady Bears improved to 6-7, 2-4 while the Lady Dragons fell to 5-9, 1-7.

Junction City trailed 7-4 after one quarter but used its defense to score 17 points in the second quarter. The Lady Dragons tied the game 10-10 with a free throw and took a 14-10 lead on a bucket by Jessie Thurmon midway in the second.

Junction City led 21-19 at the intermission.

Spring Hill heated up in the third quarter, draining a pair of 3-pointers and climbing on the offensive glass. The Lady Bears carried a 31-27 advantage into the fourth quarter.

Leslie Reddick led the Lady Dragons with 13 points while Allie Thurmon added 10.

Camyrn Dickson led Spring Hill with 14 points.
