A boil water notice has been issued for customers of the Old Union Public Water Authority due to e. coli bacteria in the distribution system. Affected customers are advised to boil all water used for drinking or food preparation for at least one minute before use. Ice cubes should be discarded and boiled water used for making ice. The boil water notice will remain in effect until the problem is corrected and an adequate disinfectant level has been established throughout the distribution system.
