Murfreesboro gets past Parkers Chapel

PARKERS CHAPEL – Murfreesboro scored 21 unanswered points in the second half to break open a close game and top Parkers Chapel 27-6 Friday night at Victor Nipper Stadium.

The Rattlers (1-3) had scored 21 points total in their first three games prior to topping the Trojans for the second consecutive year.

The Trojans (0-3) got on the scoreboard in the opening period with Lancer Clark catching a 15-yard touchdown pass from Payton Willeford.

The Trojans trailed 7-6 at intermission, but couldn’t generate any more offense the rest of the way.

Parkers Chapel will be idle next week before starting conference play on Oct. 8 at Bearden.

Murfreesboro is also idle next week and will play at Mineral Springs on Oct. 8.
