Lady Trojans win title in playoff

HOPE - Parkers Chapel’s girls needed three playoff holes to claim the 2A 6 Conference Golf Championship Tuesday in Hope. The Lady Trojans tied Horatio at 303 after 18 regulation holes.

Parkers Chapel’s boys shot 295 to finish third behind Spring Hill (272) and Caddo Hills (287). Fordyce shot 326.

In the girls, Spring Hill was third with 342 followedby Foreman (382) and Junction City (396).

Bella Frisby and Reaux McAuliffe played Horatio’s Cadee Glasgow in the playoff. In the combined score playoff, Frisby had par and McAuliffe had a double bogey while Horatio bogey and double bogey.

Frisby had a career round, shooting a 1-over 73 to earn medalist honors by a whopping 18 strokes. McAuliffe shot 105 and Makenzie Morgan scored a 125.

“I was very happy with the way I played today. I have been working really hard and it’s good to see my hard work paying off,” Frisby said. “Today I shot my best round ever in a tournament and I’m really pumped about it. I’m also very proud of my team. They stepped up today and pulled through to win conference.”

Allie Thurman led the Lady Dragons with a 115 followed by Jess Thurman’s 133 and Karla Castillo’s 148.

Parkers Chapel’s boys were led by Landon Black, who shot 85 and Spencer Frisby, who carded a 94. Trey Rogers scored 116 and Hayden Primm shot 134. Both Black and Spencer Frisby qualified for the 2A State Tournament.

Junction City’s Coyt Sellers shot 128 and Bo Maxey shot 145.

Spring Hill’s Colin Purifoy won medalist with a 77.
