SouthArk records home sweep

South Arkansas Community College’s basketball teams delivered a home sweep of East Texas Baptist JV it front of its fans on Tuesday night.

In the women’s game, the Stars came away with a 60-44 victory to improve their record to 2-0 on the young season.

Darbee Forte had 14 points with Lexi Pyle also reaching double figures with 12 points.

As of Monday’s newest poll, the Stars are ranked No. 20 in NJCAA Division II.

The Stars will be idle until Monday when they play at Arkansas Baptist JV.

The sweep was completed in the men’s game with the Stars coming away with an 82-76 victory to improve their record to 4-0.

The Stars had three players in double figures in the win with Michael Pryor leading the way with 18 points.

Xavier Hall was next with 15 points and former Strong standout Derrion Davis had 10 points.

Despite being undefeated, the Stars slipped back out the poll after being ranked No. 20 last week.

The Stars host Royal Ambassadors Prep Friday night at 7 p.m.
