HOPE Landing to celebrate Easter with drive-through event

Easter is quickly approaching and nonprofit HOPE Landing is preparing to hold a drive-through celebration.

Last year, HOPE Landing officials quickly threw together a drive-through Easter celebration in the face of the then relatively new COVID-19 pandemic.

HOPE Landing Marketing Director Jenny Williams said that the organization is inviting the community again this year for a bit of drive-through Easter fun.

“It was so last-minute last year. We’ll have more time and publicity this year and hope to have more participation,” Williams said.

In the past, the organization held a celebration for HOPE Landing children and their siblings including activities such as an Easter egg hunt.

The drive-through event is open to the public and will utilize the unique features of the HOPE Landing ranch.

The ranch will be transformed into an Easter wonderland for the event, which is set for Thursday, April 1 from 6 to 7 p.m.

Families should bring a few plastic eggs along for the trip, as children will have the opportunity to check out the ranch’s horses dressed in Easter attire and vote for their favorite by tossing an egg in their choice’s basket.

The next stop is the ranch’s barn, just beyond which the Easter bunny will be waiting to hand out candy-filled eggs.

“We wanted to just be able to do something for Easter. We hope everyone comes out; we’re interested in giving everyone something fun to do for Easter,” Williams said.

HOPE Landing is also currently holding a silent auction on their Facebook page from Monday until Thursday.

“We had a lot of donors right around Christmas and a mother who gathered the silent auction items and we just haven’t had an opportunity to put this stuff out there. There’s some gift certificates and some really great things,” Williams said.

Images of each item are currently posted on the HOPE Landing Facebook page.

Bids can be placed in the comment section of each item and the high bid on April 1 at 7 p.m. will be the winner.

HOPE Landing is a nonprofit organization that offers occupational, physical and speech-language therapy to children.

The ranch is located approximately five miles from El Dorado on Hwy. 82, specifically at 214 Hope Landing Road.
