Rebecca Payne Haygood, of Royal, AR formerly of El Dorado, died on June 7, 2021 at her son’s home in Royal, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on February 6, 1939 in Mount Holly, AR; the daughter of John Ritchie Payne and Wanna Bryant Payne. Rebecca originally worked for Spencer Law Firm and forty-one years later, retired from the Depper Law Firm. A retired paralegal, she devoted many years to helping and caring for others. She was a devout Christian and attended East Main Baptist Church in El Dorado and First Baptist Church of Royal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 58 years James ‘Jim’ Curtis Haygood and sister Jean Dickson.
Survivors are sons Johnny Haygood (Talisa) of Royal, AR and James Robert Haygood (Neha) of Hot Springs, AR.; grandsons Ashton Haygood and Zachary Haygood of Royal, AR; brothers Sammy Payne (Carolyn) and Howard Payne (Beverly) of El Dorado, AR. She also leaves several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends Monday evening 5 pm -7 pm at Young’s Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Young’s Chapel. Private burial will be at a later date.
