EHS cancels football game

El Dorado has cancelled its second football game due to COVID-19 concerns. The school district released a statement on Monday that the scheduled game on Friday at Pine Bluff has been cancelled and ruled a no contest.

That statement from the El Dorado School District read, “Due to some players being quarantined because of COVID-19, the game between the El Dorado Wildcats and the Pine Bluff Zebras on October, 2 has been cancelled. The game has been ruled a ‘no contest.’”

El Dorado also cancelled its home game last week against Jonesboro. It was also ruled a no contest.

The Wildcats haven’t played since Sept. 18, when they traveled to Magnolia. El Dorado’s next scheduled game is Oct. 9 against Sheridan at Memorial Stadium.

As a no-contest, the football game won’t have any playoff implications.
