JoAn Bennett Skinner, 84 of El Dorado, AR; died on Monday, March 30, 2020 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas.

She was born September 8, 1935 in Magnolia, AR to Doyle Dempster Bennett and Rita Bertha Furr Bennett. JoAn was an administrative assistant to the Union County Judge through many administrations and was a congressional liaison for FEMA. JoAn had a love of travel and painting. JoAn had a servant’s heart and worked with the Chemo Angels, Life Touch Hospice providing meals for families and many other community organizations. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she served on several committees.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 53 years Charles T. Skinner, a daughter Leigh Anne Skinner and a sister Pat Kirkpatrick.

JoAn was known for her warm smile, hugs and her living memorial for loving people, living life to the fullest and for giving more than she took.

Survivors are sons Charles T Skinner, Jr. (Becki) and David J. Skinner (Renee); grandchildren Chandler Hollis (Victoria), Chesley Hollis (Kellee), Suzanne Skinner, Lindsey Kennebeck (Brian), Charlie Skinner (Whitney); and great grandchildren Mackenzie Kennebeck, Dylan Kennebeck, Grace Welch and Reed Welch.

In keeping with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations regarding public gatherings there will be no public visitation or services at this time. Arrangements for a memorial will be announced by Young’s Funeral Directors at a later date.
