Lady Dragons claim victory in D-Mac Tournament

ARKADELPHIA - Junction City defeated Arkadelphia 6-3 and Batesville 10-8 Saturday to win its division in the D-Mac Tournament. The Lady Dragons improved to 5-4 on the season.

The Lady Dragons scored six runs in the first inning against the Lady Badgers. Charly Temple had two hits and struck out five to earn the victory in the circle.

Kaylee Gossler had two singles and April Thurmon hit a double.

In the second game, every Lady Dragon reached base safely as Junction City pounded out 15 total hits, including a two-run home run by Tayeetria Rogers.

Grace McGoogan had three hits. Gossler had two hits.

Temple struck out three in the victory.

El Dorado improved to 8-0 on the season, including 3-0 in conference after a pair of no-hit victories, 15-0 and 17-2, at J.A. Fair on Friday.

Grace Hargett picked up her seventh win with nine strikeouts in the 3-inning first game of the double header.

The Lady Wildcats scored eight runs in the first with a pair of two-run doubles by Taylor Mayo and Grace Murry. El Dorado added seven runs in the second, which featured a two-run triple by Larran Simmons and a RBI single by Mayor.

Simmons tossed a no-hitter in the second game, allowing two unearned runs after an infield error. Simmons struck out five and walked one.

Murry was 2-for-2 with a grand slam in the third inning.

Allyson Silmon opened with a 3-run home run in the first. Lea Jones added a grand slam in the second inning. Jones, Murry and Silmon each had four RBI in the game.
