El Dorado police investigate sexually-based offenses

El Dorado police are investigating two sexually-based crimes that were reported within a day of each other.

At 8 p.m. Sunday, police were summoned to the emergency room of the Medical Center of South Arkansas in reference to an alleged sexual assault victim.

A woman told officers that a man had raped her hours earlier as she lay in bed at her residence in the 400 block of West Second.

The woman said she knows the man by what is presumably his first name, telling police that he “stays at the residence.”

She said the man fondled her and raped her, ignoring her pleas to stop. The woman noted that the suspect was wearing a condom at the time.

She told police that she pulled away from the suspect and he left the residence.

Police said the woman made statements indicating that the suspect had previously committed such acts.

On Saturday, a woman reported that her ex-girlfriend posted a nude photo of her on the suspect’s social media account without the victim’s consent.

The alleged act constitutes a misdemeanor charge of unlawful distribution of sexual images or recordings, per Arkansas statute.

The woman noted that the suspect lives in Oklahoma and authorities there advised her to report the matter to local police.
