MARIE WEST HOLMES
Marie West Holmes age 83 of El Dorado passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at her home. Marie was born on February 25, 1935 in Strong, AR to Ora Lee Futch West and John Denton West. She was a retired hairdresser, having operated her own shop, out of her home, for many years and was a longtime member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church. She had a caring soul and would do anything she could to help anyone in need, she loved all of her family dearly and was always there for each of them, anytime they needed her.
She was preceded in death by her father, J.D. West; mother, Ora Lee Lairson; step father, Jess Lairson; her husband, Louie L. Holmes; one son, Ricky holmes; one daughter, Laura J. Holmes and one grandson, Louie “Skot” Holmes.
Survivors include; one son, Randy L. Holmes of El Dorado; two granddaughters, Samantha Whaley and husband Maurice of El Dorado, Lindsey Patrick and husband Brian of Austin, AR; three great grandchildren, Brianna Patrick, Paige Holmes and Bentley Moffett; two sisters, Mary Lee Geter of Lillie, LA and Janelle Goff Mann of Hermitage, AR along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Bailey Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home.
