Wildcats place fifth in Conway Invitational

CONWAY - El Dorado’s swim teams competed in the Conway Invitational last week. The Wildcats placed fifth in the boys division out of 19 teams.

Hudson McDiarmid led the way, taking first place in the 100 freestyle.

Conway won the title with 709 points followed by Bryant (230), Batesville (198), Magnolia (184), El Dorado (161), Mountain Home (130), Russellville (106), Lamar (92), Rogers (87), Sylvan Hills (77), Heritage (71), Pulaski Academy (64), Bentonville (41), Bentonville West (40), Hot Springs (29), Pottsville (20), Camden Fairview (13), Vilonia (10) and Hot Springs Lakeside (3).

McDiarmid won the 100 freestyle in a time of 52.75. El Dorado’s Payton Allman was sixth in the event. Allman touched third in the 50 freestyle.

The Lady Wildcats placed seventh out of 12 teams.

Lorin Utsch finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.16. Conway’s Emily Holman won the event with a time of 26.10.

El Dorado’s Abby Thompson placed seventh in the 100 freestyle.

Conway won the girls title with 494 points. Bryant was second with 284 followed by Mountain Home (253), Mount St. Mary’s (211), Russellville (192), Rogers (149), El Dorado (133), Magnolia (111), Sylvan Hills (89), Batesville (55), Pulaski Academy (46) and Vilonia (38).
