This week, we say hello to Martha Benton, editorial clerk in the newsroom.
Martha has worked for the News-Times for five years, with the majority of that time spent in the circulation department where she was the friendly face who often greeted those visiting our offices on Madison. Last year, she moved to the editorial department, where she handles obituaries, calendar listings, Out of the Past photos, assists with news items and helps readers who contact our newsroom.
Martha is an El Dorado native, with one son, 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren who all live in the area. When not working, she enjoys sewing and cooking, but above all, time spent with her family.
"I just love to be with my family," Martha said.
Her favorite part of working at the News-Times is meeting new people and helping them with whatever they need.
"I get a joy out of helping folks," Martha said.
