Trojans, Dragons compete at district track meet

CROSSETT – Lafayette County won the boys title Wednesday in the 2A Region 8 track meet. Parkers Chapel and Junction City claimed third and fourth, respectively. The Cougars scored 183 points to finish ahead of Harmony Grove (154), Parkers Chapel (90), Junction City (86), Bearden (73), Fordyce (28) and Spring Hill (4).

Treyvon Jamerson led the Trojans, finishing first in the 400, fifth in the 100 and eighth in the 200. Isaac Garrett-Evans took first in the high jump and fifth in the 800. Michael Brotherton finished first in the 3,200.

The Dragons were led by Ryan Allen, who was first in the 1,600 and second in the 3,200. Jamarko Singleton and Samaj Levingston claimed first place in the discus, and shot, respectively.

Other scorers for Junction City included Deandre Malone, who was third in the triple jump, fifth in the 400 and seventh in the high jump. Harlandus Frazier was third in the 200. Jerrodney Tubbs was fourth in the discus. Alex Prado was fifth in the 1,600 and eighth in the 3,200. Chase Fennell was sixth in the 3,200 and seventh in the 1,600. Jaden Hill was sixth in the high jump. Kyle Kidwell was seventh in the shot. Tanner Barnette was seventh in the discus.

For PC, Korbin McAuliffe was second in the 3,200. Caleb Jacobs was second in the 400 and fifth in the 200. Preston Stivender was second in the 800. Amari Bell was fourth in the shot. Edison Thompson was eighth in the 110 hurdles. Hunter Palculict was eighth in the triple jump.

The team of Garrett-Evans, Jacobs, Jamerson and Palculict won the 4x400.
