MCSA names new VP of operations

The Medical Center of South Arkansas has announced the appointment of Danna W. Taylor the new position of vice president of operations

Taylor brings with her a decade of experience in the health care industry. She most recently served as MCSA director of physician practice, where she managed the specialty clinics operations, staffing and strategic initiatives.

“The experience, leadership and commitment to operational excellence Danna brings to this role is important for the strategic growth of our hospital,” said Scott Street, MCSA chief executive officer. “The Vice President of Operations position was established in recognition of the multifaceted services now provided by MCSA, and for our organization to be responsive to the needs that our planned growth requires.”

As VP of operations, Taylor will continue to direct the specialty clinics and add six hospital departments with direct reporting: cardiovascular, radiology, laboratory, inpatient and outpatient therapy, respiratory and pharmacy. Her role also includes physician recruitment and overseeing the current multimillion dollar hospital renovation.

Taylor is a graduate of Westside Christian School in El Dorado and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Ouachita Baptist University and a master’s degree in health care administration from Trinity University. Prior to her arrival at MCSA, Taylor was the director at Arkansas Department of Health and was previously a physician recruiter for UAMS.

She is married and has two sons. Taylor is a member of Parkers Chapel First Baptist Church and volunteers in the children’s ministry. She is also a member of the Life Touch Hospice advisory board and has served on the board of Paint the Town Pink.

“My goal is to help make MCSA the medical center people choose to come to for their health care,” Taylor said. “This is my home. This is where I will continue to live. This is where my family and friends will get care. It is important to me that we all have access to the highest quality health care in our community. I’m proud to be a part of an administrative team dedicated to making MCSA a premier health care destination.”
