In the weekend leading up to the start of school today, Junction City hosted a two day event organized by the Kevin Payne Foundation. During the first day of the event, students from kindergarten to sixth grade received backpacks with all the supplies they need for class. On Sunday, as the second day of the Junction City back to school bash sponsored by the Kevin Payne Foundation, local cosmetologists came out to Junction City High School to give out free hair cuts. Students from any age group were welcome to come out. Payne wanted to put on the event for Junction City students because it is the community he grew up in and he wanted the chance to give back.
