New turf at Memorial Stadium

Workers with United Track and Field were busy pulling up the old turf at Memorial Stadium Monday. El Dorado School District Athletic Director Phillip Lansdell said the old turf is being replaced after 11 years. The new turf has a few improved features, including a concussion pad under it and a new, non-rubber in-fill that reduces heat. Lansdell said the work would likely take a few weeks.
