Lady Cats win at Hot Springs

HOT SPRINGS - El Dorado’s varsity girls got off to a fast start Friday in a 52-41 road win at Hot Springs. The Lady Wildcats improved to 7-18 overall and 6-7 in 5A South play. The Lady Trojans fell to 7-16, 2-10.

The Wildcats fell short in the boys’ game 60-49.

Kennedi Flowers drained four 3-pointers in the first half to lead El Dorado’s girls. The Lady Wildcats outscored Hot Springs 21-14 in the second quarter to build a 32-25 halftime advantage. The margin was 40-32 going into the final quarter.

Flowers led El Dorado with 12 points while Damecia McDaniel and Destin Lewis contributed eight and six, respectively. Twelve players scored for the Lady Wildcats.

Bethann Mullenix led Hot Springs with 15 points while Praylin Jones added 12 and Kyabra Lomax nine.

In the boys’ game, the Wildcats led 13-7 in the first quarter and held a 28-21 advantage before the Trojans closed the second on an 8-0 run to take a 29-28 halftime lead.

El Dorado fell to 6-14, 3-10 while the Trojans improved to 10-12, 6-6.

El Dorado will host Hot Springs Lakeside on Tuesday.
